Albert’s Schloss has poured it’s 150,000th pint of Pilsner Urquell, crowning the Bier Palace on Peter Street, Manchester, as one of the World’s biggest consumers of Pilsner Urquell by volume than anywhere else outside of the Czech Republic/ Bohemia.

Weekly 1,500 mile beer runs are required to the small Czech town of Plzeň, the home of Pilsner Urquell Brewery since 1842, to fill the 4 x 900 pint copper tanks that dominate the main bar area. This commitment to freshness seems to have paid off.

Since Albert’s Schloss opened last October, Mancunian’s have really taken to fresh, unpasteurized Pilsner and the 150,000th pint officially confirms that as the city of Manchester’s official tankovna (tank beer bar) have now out drank all other Tankovnas (Tank Beer Bars) the World over by a considerable margin, including bars in New York and London.

Creative Director for Albert’s Schloss, Adelaide Winter said: “Manchester has gone mad for Pilsner Urquell and have embraced all things Bohemia. The fact that we are pouring the most Pilsner Urquell outside of The Czech Republic makes us immensely proud that we have a created a true Bier Palace!’

Additional to Pilners Urquell, Albert’s Schloss serves an Alpine inspired Cook Haus menu over 40 premium beers as well as cocktails, wine, homemade Schnapps and hundreds of bottles of Prosecco weekly via it’s very popular ‘Push for Prosecco’ button.
