Leading bar chain, the Slug and Lettuce, can now announce the partnership with Breast Cancer Care to help support anyone affected by breast cancer from day one. The brand is aiming to raise thousands throughout the year of 2016 making it Slug and Lettuce’s most significant charity partnership to date.
Not only will all bars across the country be fundraising in March for Mother’s Day and continuing to support the official Breast Cancer Care month in October, individual staff members will be coming together throughout the year encouraging their teams to take part in a multitude of activities and fundraising games to raise even more funds. All bars will have collection boxes displayed for extra pennies to be donated throughout 2016.
Kate Wilton, Operations Director says: “Breast cancer affects thousands of families across the UK and we know how imperative it is for the charity to have the funds to support all that are impacted by this terrible disease. Thanks to this important partnership, we have the opportunity to inspire and encourage our colleagues and customers to come together and raise awareness and funds. We are incredibly proud to be working with such an important cause”.
Andy Harris, Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Breast Cancer Care, adds: “We are delighted that Slug and Lettuce made Breast Cancer Care its National Charity Partner. The money Slug and Lettuce raises will help us provide a vital emotional support network to help thousands of people find a way to live with, through and beyond breast cancer. There are over half a million people living with the disease in the UK, and with more and more diagnosed every year, there’s never been such an urgent need for our support services.”
All funds raised will allow Breast Cancer Care to continue to provide its services for free. Breast Cancer Care provides anyone affected by breast cancer with expert support and information. They understand the emotions, challenges and decisions breast cancer patients face every day – their team of nurses, specialists and volunteers are there to help anyone affected by breast cancer.
