They’re Back . . . . . Again

The Liverpool Sessions
*TRADE ONLY*

After an 8 month hiatus, The London Sessions are back. This time they’re taking to the streets (and bars) of Liverpool for what they’re pretty sure is their 28th session… It’s hard to keep track. From 12pm – 4pm on October 26th, you’ll be treated to three sessions in one day alongside BBQ and cocktails courtesy of Jack Daniel’s, with a not-so-little announcement at the end. Sound familiar? Think Glasgow 2016. Following in the footsteps of such luminaries as Gary Regan, Ivy Mix, and Dale DeGroff, they’re proud to introduce their speakers – Erik Lorincz, JJ Goodman & Cam Dawson, speaking on Creativity, Entrepreneurialism, Consistency and Quality.

No stranger to the sessions, this will be Erik’s third session with them and you know what they say about third time lucky. As well as being one of the most charming and charismatic people, Erik is the current (11th) Head Bartender at The American Bar at The Savoy and has picked up two coveted Spirited Awards for Best International Bartender 2011 and Best International Bar Team 2016, and was shortlisted for Best International Bartender 2017 (he was robbed). Erik recently flexed his creative muscles to launch his own line of cocktail shakers with Tetsuya Yokoyam ‘Birdy by Erik Lorincz’ and when he’s not behind the bar he can be found presenting on Jamie Oliver’s Drinks Tube, or traveling the world. Honestly, we can’t keep track. Accordingly, Erik’s session will be centered around Creativity.

Next up, as seen on TV…. JJ Goodman opened his first bar at the age of 24 in 2008 and has since opened seven cocktail bars under the London Cocktail Club umbrella, so who better to conduct our talk on entrepreneurialism? A seasoned professional, JJ won Best Bartender at the 42 Below Cocktail World Cup in 2008, is one of London Lifestyle Award’s 50 Most Influential People and was named as one of Zagat’s 30 under 30 in 2009. JJ won the BBC TV show The Restaurant which secured him a business partnership with BBC Dragon Sarah Willingham and Chef Raymond Blanc OBE. When he’s not busy running his empire, JJ works alongside The Prince’s Trust, Springboard UK and the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII), aiming to develop a community resource within the hospitality industry. Smart and Charitable, what more could you want?

Last but not least, Cam Dawson’s ten year career in the drinks industry has seen him work in a variety of Pubs, Clubs and Cocktail Bars around the world. Although originally from Stirling in Scotland, Cam learned his trade in Perth, Australia before returning to his adoptive home of Brighton, where he works as the Jack Daniel’s UK Brand Ambassador. In short, there’s nothing he doesn’t know about JD and the half a billion bottles maturing in Lynchburg as we speak. Have a burning question? This is your opportunity to ask it. Cam’s session will focus on consistency and quality.

As always, sessions are free to attend but are strictly RSVP only. RSVP’s open on Monday September 11th from midday. Email rebekkah@rebekkahdooley.com to secure your space. Remember, sessions book up quick, so set your alarms, pull an all nighter, or be smart and schedule an email. Whatever you need to do.

THE ITALIANS

Widely regarded as one of the worlds foremost vermouth experts, Giuseppe Gallo of Italys Amalfi Coast has worked (and excelled) in pretty much every role within the bar industry, inspired as a child by his mothers home made Limoncello. In 2014 he was recognised as Best International Brand Ambassador by Tales of The Cocktail, and during his 20 years of working with alcohol has been profiled by the Sunday Times, The Telegraph, Imbibe, Vanity Fair, Wall Street Journal and PEOPLE. Currently he serves on the Spirited Awards Judging Panel and is the Founding Director of Ital Spirits.

Simone Caporale landed in London from Como, Italy in 2009. Just five years later he was awarded International Bartender of the Year at Tales of The Cocktail 2014, the same year Artesian took home the Best International Hotel Bar, Best International Bar Team and the coveted World’s Best Bar accolades, as well as the Drink’s International World’s Best Bar award, which, under Simone and Alex Kratena’s careful watch, they’ve won 2012 – 2015 inclusive. His trophy cabinet must need reinforcing. Simone joins us fresh from launching his newest project p(our) in Paris with Alex Kratena and Monica Berg.

Portogruaro native Davide Segat learnt his trade in some of London’s most illustrious establishments before opening the London EDITION, where he meticulously runs both the Lobby Bar and multi award winning Punch Room. At the Connaught he was taught the classical arts of bartending (how to mix a Martini and flirt with your girlfriend whilst you’re in the bathroom) before moving to Miami to learn his way around a blender, and at Green and Red was taught everything about tequila and some other stuff that he can’t really remember. After two years at Hawksmoor he accepted the job of Bar Manager at The Bulgari Hotel in Knightsbridge. This year he’s mainly been travelling the world making Punch for the likes of PDT, Candelaria and Dead Rabbit.

Sean Muldoon And Jack McGarry Of Dead Rabbit To Host The First London Sessions

London Sessions

INTRODUCING SESSION #1

Joining us for Session #1, all the way from New York, New York (so good they named it twice) are the much decorated and highly lauded Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry of world famous Dead Rabbit Grocery & Grog. Between the two of them, Sean & Jack have won eight Tales of The Cocktail Spirited Awards, including World’s Best Bartender (of which Jack was the youngest ever recipient), Best American Cocktail Bar and World’s Best Cocktail Menu, an award won by our hosts Callooh Callay the year prior, and Dead Rabbit was last year rated the second Best Bar in the World by Drinks International 50 Best Bars.

Sean and Jack are visiting London specifically for this event and we couldn’t be more honoured or excited to have them launching The London Sessions. So basically, if you wanna see them whilst they’re here, this is your only opportunity to do so.

The first London Session is being held in association with Jameson Irish Whiskey and Fever Tree Premium Mixers at Callooh Callay on July 6th from 1pm – 3pm. Tickets are free and include a glass of Dead Rabbit Irish Coffee, which we happen to think is the best Irish Coffee, ever.

Sean & Jack are loading their suitcases with their award winning menus and will be holding a menu signing following the sessions. Menus will be available (signed) at the heavily reduced price of £20, cash only.

Please note that whilst we are happy to be announcing our speakers, we are not yet taking RSVPs – stay tuned for more info, coming soon.
