Spirits innovator Emporia Brands is working once again in collaboration with the Boutique Bar Show as the UK importer offers bartenders and influencers an opportunity to experience Lauvia in Manchester on May 18th.
Armagnac Lauvia is produced in the heart of the Gascony region of France, from the Uni blanc, Baco blanc and Folle grapes, the three grapes best suited to the production of Armagnac.
Lauvia are giving you the opportunity to really understand the complexity and quality of great Armagnac with a series of interactive workshops that will show you how the grape varietals, the ageing process and the art of blending come together to create a truly unique product.
Within the 40 minute interactive session you will be guided through by Emporia’s armagnac expert Matthew Dakers, a series of discovery tasting flights of a truly artisan armagnac, Lauvia.
Discover why Lauvia stands apart in its respect of the terroir, micro-distillation, oak ageing and the art of blending.
The tasting starts with a flight of the three grape varietal distillates, Uni blanc, Baco blanc and Folle blanche grown by leading wine farms and micro-distilled on the farm in Bas-Armagnac.
The second flight will show the evolution of the blend of the three grape varieties through several stages of oak maturation tasting each of the three single vintages 2009, 2010 and 2012 which comprise the ‘Fine’ blend.
The third and final flight will show you the Lauvia master blenders skill and the three expressions of Lauvia starting with ‘Fine’ having shared the journey, and beyond to ‘Reserve’ (2001 to 2009) and ‘Hors D’Age’ (1973 to 2000).
Places are strictly limited to five sessions of small intimate groups starting at midday, pre-booking is strongly recommended.
