A few weeks ago I won a competition organised by Funkin Puree via Bar Magazine where the prize was a bottle of Eristoff vodka and 4 boxes of there Strawberry Woo Woo pre-mix pouches. Never one to shy away from experiencing new things, me and my flat mate poured ourselves a glass with a 25ml shot of Eristoff and tastedContinue reading “Funkin Strawberry Woo Woo Tasting Notes”

Today I attended the 3rd annual Altrincham Bottle & Cask Festival hosted by the Le Trappiste Belgian Bar in the historic Altrincham Market. Glenfiddich
Glenfiddich is a staple in the whisky world. Seen by thousands, stocked in venues you frequent and no doubt in many a drinks cabinet at home, the brand is a pioneer in to be fair not only the world of whisky, but spirits in general. For me, Glenfiddich will always have a certain place inContinue reading “Glenfiddich”
Las Corazas Macabeo Tasting Notes
The Las Corazas Macabeo is the sister white wine to the Spanish Tempranillo (https://drinksenthusiast.wordpress.com/2011/07/31/las-corazes-tempranillo-tasting-notes/) and I cracked open the bottle to accompany some fresh river cobbler. From the Castilla la Mancha region, this 3-year-old white gave off a subtle golden-yellow colour once poured. On the nose it gave off small amounts of floral extracts, an almost summer garden feeling. AContinue reading “Las Corazas Macabeo Tasting Notes”
Morgan’s Spiced & Coke Pre-mixed Tasting Notes
As well as being handed a can of Southern Comfort mixer (https://drinksenthusiast.wordpress.com/2011/08/17/southern-comfort-lemonade-lime-pre-mixer-tasting-notes/) I was also able to taste the Morgan’s Spiced offering of their pre-mixer with coke. With a strength of 6.4% and my love of rum, this is a perfect mix! The aromas and smells of vanilla instantly hit your nostrils with a spiceContinue reading “Morgan’s Spiced & Coke Pre-mixed Tasting Notes”
Southern Comfort Lemonade & Lime Pre-mixer Tasting Notes
I was handed another pre-mixer a few days ago by a friend of mine after she learnt of my love for Southern Comfort. It comes mixed with lime and lemonade and at 5% I was expecting a similar experience as the Malibu & Cranberry pre-mix (https://drinksenthusiast.wordpress.com/2011/07/22/pre-mixed-malibu-cranberry-tasting-notes/) Upon opening the can, no distinct aromas came out, althoughContinue reading “Southern Comfort Lemonade & Lime Pre-mixer Tasting Notes”
Lech Tasting Notes
A work colleague of mine left to travel back to Poland a few weeks ago and she left me a can of Lech, a Polish lager which is apparently quite popular. At 5.2% I was expecting something rather strong, however it was rather surprisingly smooth and not as gassy. It had a light, slight hoppy taste, andContinue reading “Lech Tasting Notes”
Peroni Nastro Azzuro & Peroni Gran Riserva Tasting Notes
A while back on my Twitter feed, Peroni asked me to try out there Peroni Nastro Azzuro and let them know what I thought, so last night I nipped down to The Waterside in Sale to taste this Italian lager. Served in a tall and elegant Peroni branded stemmed glass, a pale yellow lager awaits you. Upon tasting, it gave off aContinue reading “Peroni Nastro Azzuro & Peroni Gran Riserva Tasting Notes”
Martin Miller’s Tasting Notes
Martin Miller’s is fast becoming one of those ‘must have’ premium gins to see on any back bar or drinks cabinet. But why is it becoming so popular, and even touching the heights of Tanqueray? It all begins in the heart of England, the Black Country, and the use of batch distillation. Combining the two traditionalistsContinue reading “Martin Miller’s Tasting Notes”
Miller Genuine Draught Tasting Notes
If you’re ever with me for a drink, it’s a rarity I go for lager these days, nothing against them, I just seem to have a bigger heart towards ales. But what I do love is the time where you can just crack open a bottle at home on a hot summers day. Millers is myContinue reading “Miller Genuine Draught Tasting Notes”
